Florida Gators baseball schedule released

The defending National Champion Florida Gators baseball team released its schedule for the 2018 season on Wednesday.

The Gators will open the 2018 season at home with a weekend matchup against Sienna College starting on Friday February 16.

The home slate includes SEC matchups with Arkansas (March 23-25), Vanderbilt (March 30-April 1), Missouri (April 13-15), Auburn (April 27-29) And Georgia (May 11-13).

The road SEC schedule will take Florida to South Carolina (March 16-18), Tennessee (April 6-8), Kentucky (April 20-22), Texas A&M (May 4-6) and Mississippi State (May 17-19).

Florida will travel to Miami the second weekend of the season for its annual series with the Miami Hurricanes (February 23-25). They will also host Florida State on Tuesday, March 13 before meeting the Noles in Jacksonville (Tuesday, March 27). They’ll finish the Sunshine State Showdown in Tallahassee on Tuesday, April 10.

Nick de la Torre
A South Florida native, Nick developed a passion for all things sports at a very young age. His love for baseball was solidified when he saw Al Leiter’s no-hitter for the Marlins live in May of 1996. He was able to play baseball in college but quickly realized there isn’t much of a market for short, slow outfielders that hit around the Mendoza line. Wanting to continue with sports in some capacity he studied journalism at the University of Central Florida. Nick got his first start in the business as an intern for a website covering all things related to the NFL draft before spending two seasons covering the Florida football team at Bleacher Report. That job led him to GatorCountry. When he isn’t covering Gator sports, Nick enjoys hitting way too many shots on the golf course, attempting to keep up with his favorite t.v. shows and watching the Heat, Dolphins and Marlins.
