WR Justin Williams commits to the Florida Gators over FSU

The Florida Gators stayed hot on the recruiting trails as they picked up their second commitment of the day on Sunday.

Receiver Justin Williams (6-0, 180, Gainesville, FL. Buchholz) committed to Florida over Florida State, Kentucky, and Indiana after taking an official visit to Florida this weekend.

“From the backyard to the Swamp,” Williams said on social media. “Go Gators.”

Williams, who visited campus this weekend, is someone that Billy Napier and his staff have been recruiting hard over the last few months.

The Buchholz receiver is an all-around athlete; he plays both sides of the ball in high school, and Williams also plays baseball, and he helped Buchholz to the state title game this year.

As a junior Williams was a finalist for Mr. Football as he had 85 catches for 1,473 yards and 13 touchdowns. Williams has also seen time at running back where he added 1,023 yards on 108 carries for another 16 touchdowns.

Williams went over 1,000 yards receiving and rushing and is the first player in Florida history to do that since 2002 when Devin Hester accomplished that feat.

With the commitment of Williams, the Gators now have 6 commits in the class as he joins offensive linemen Chancellor Campbell and G’Nivre Carr as well as quarterback Will Griffin, defensive lineman Jamir Perez, and defensive back Kaiden Hall.
