Wilson has the Florida Gators on top after his visit

The Florida Gators have hosted several top prospects on campus already this week including one of the top instate receivers.

Receiver Eugene Wilson III (5-11, 165, Tampa, FL. Gaither) was on campus and enjoyed his first visit to Gainesville.

“I enjoyed every bit of it,” Wilson said of his visit to Florida on Tuesday. “We toured the whole facility even the locker room and got to see the stadium. Everything looked awesome and meeting the coaching staff was even better.”

While on campus, Wilson spoke at length with receivers coach Keary Colbert about how he would fit into Florida’s offense.

“It was good,” he said on his talks with Keary Colbert. “Being there, I seen it was more bigger receivers and not too many that got quickness and things that I could bring to the table. Don’t get me wrong the receivers there look great but I’m sure that’s where they see me playing a role.”

Head coach Billy Napier also spoke with Wilson on Tuesday and made sure the receiver knew what the Gators thought of his game.

“When I seen him one of the first things, he said was that I looked fast,” Wilson said on the message from Napier. “It was a real quick little conversation as he was getting ready for the team workout.”

This was the first time for Wilson to meet the coaching staff and he walked away impressed by their energy.

“I really liked them,” he said on his impressions of the coaching staff. “They seem to really enjoy their role in the program. Watching the whole team stay hyped really started with the coaches intensity. On top of that, they were cool when I met them.”

After the visit, Wilson says the Gators are his top school and he also called Florida a dream offer.

“I would say top considering they were the only school I visited,” Wilson said on where Florida stands in his recruitment. “I’ve been watching them ever since I got into college football and then being able to see behind everything on the field was just awesome.”
