Williams recaps his latest Florida Gators virtual visit

The last few weeks have been busy for the Florida Gators coaching staff with multiple virtual visits a day.

Linebacker Jeremiah Williams (6-3,224, Birmingham, AL. Ramsay) took one to Florida last week and enjoyed the visit.

“The virtual visit was real nice,” Williams said of his virtual visit to Florida. “I toured the academic center first, then we went to the football complex and toured the facilities there. Then we talked to the strength and conditioning coach and did a position meeting.”

During the visit, Williams had the chance to talk to strength and conditioning coach Nick Savage.

“It was real nice, I talked to him before when I was on campus,” he said of talking with Nick Savage. “He’s just a real cool dude and he knows what he’s talking about.”

Williams also had the chance the talk to the coaches at his future position during the visit and they explained how he would fit into Florida’s defense.

“I talk to Coach [Todd] Grantham and Coach [Christian] Robinson mainly,” Williams said of the coaches from Florida he talked to the most. “They basically see me as a freshman coming in and making plays. They want me to play all of the linebacker positions and just move me around.”

Head coach Dan Mullen also spent time with Williams on the visit and talked with the linebacker’s mom during the visit.

“Coach Mullen was talking to my mom for the majority of the time, she had a lot of questions,” he said on his talks with Mullen. “We talked about becoming family and how he needs me to come in and play as a freshman. Mom said she loved the campus and the talks with him.”

Williams was hoping to have narrow down his options more by this time but he says that hasn’t happened but he knows what’s next in his recruitment.

“I have a top eight but I can’t really narrow it down because I can’t take visits,” Williams said. “I want to take official visits next but I’m not sure who will get them right now. Florida is going to get one though.”
