Williams has a lot of interest in the Florida Gators following his visit

On Friday, the Florida Gators hosted one of the top-ranked receivers in the country on an unofficial visit.

Receiver Hykeem Williams (6-3, 195, Fort Lauderdale, FL. Stranahan) was on campus and spent time with two coaches.

“It was good,” Williams said of his visit to Florida on Friday. “I got to tour the facilities, do a photoshoot and I had a chance to talk with the coaches. I was mainly talking to Coach [Keary] Colbert and Coach [Billy] Napier.”

This was the first time for Williams to meet the new coaching staff and he walked impressed by the staff.

“They gave me a great impression,” he said of the coaches. “I got to sit down and talk with them, and I had great conversations with both of them.”

Receivers coach Keary Colbert spent a lot of time with Williams as he was breaking down his history of coaching the position.

“He told me how he develops his wide receivers,” Williams said on the message from Colbert to him. “He told me how he puts receivers in the NFL and who he has coached in the past. Just telling me about himself.”

Head coach Billy Napier also explained to Williams why he would be a good fit for the Gators program.

“He was just telling me how I would fit in there,” he said on the message from Napier. “He thinks that the environment will be good for me, the environment is great there, I love the environment there.”

Williams recently named a top group of schools that didn’t include the Gators but after the visit, the receiver says he has a lot of interest in Florida now.

“I have big interest in Florida now,” Williams said on his interest in Florida. “I like the school; it’s a great school and I like the coaches.”

Next up for the receiver will be several trips to rivals of the Gators and Williams hopes to return to Gainesville in a few months.

“I visit Florida State on Sunday, Pitt on the 18th, Georgia on the 25th, Alabama on April 2nd, and Texas A&M on the 5th,” he said on visit plans. “I’ll be coming back to Florida in the summer.”
