Utah commit Jaylon Glover had a “great” visit to Gainesville

The Florida Gators currently have one running back committed in the 2022 class but they’re keeping an eye out for a second one.

Utah running back Jaylon Glover (5-7, 205, Lakeland, FL. Lake Gibson) is one of the top targets and he was on campus on Saturday to watch the Gators take on Alabama.

“It was great,” Glover said of his visit to Florida on Saturday. “Especially growing up a Florida fan just to see them work hard and try get a W, it was a great game. I think it was one of the best games I’ve seen in person. Florida has a great team this year.”

Running backs coach Greg Knox told Glover to be ready for the running game on Saturday and explained how the staff picks who’s in the game at the position.

“Coach Knox told me that they were going to utilize their backs in different ways,” he said on Florida’s running game. “He said whoever has the hot hand is going to be the guy. As the game progressed whoever was hot got the ball, [Nayquan] Wright came in late, seeing him tote the rock was pretty neat.”

Knox and head coach Dan Mullen have still been recruiting Glover hard despite his commitment and they’ve let the running back know he still has a spot in Gainesville.

“Coach Knox and Coach Mullen, nothing has changed,” Glover said on Florida recruiting him. “They haven’t changed, they’re still the same people that recruited me when I wasn’t committed. They understand the boundary, but they say that I know where home is at, and they would love to have me here.”

Despite a good visit to Gainesville on Saturday, Glover says he’s solid with his commitment but enjoys visiting Florida.

“I’m locked in with Utah, but I enjoy coming around,” he said on the status of his commitment. “They’re good people, we may never know but I’m definitely settled in with what I have now but it’s definitely good coming to the Swamp.”
