Umanmielen ready to visit the Florida Gators

The Florida Gators have been trying to get add depth to the defensive line in the 2020 class and a few weeks ago the staff added a new name to the board.

Defensive end Princely Umanmielen (6-4, 249, Manor, TX. High) picked up the offer from the Gators a few weeks ago after he heard from the coaching staff.

“It was Coach [David] Turner that offered me,” Umanmielen said on the coach who offered him from Florida. “They said they watched my film as a staff and that they want me there badly.”

Umanmielen who has 28 offers already says the offer from Florida was one that he has been waiting on in his recruitment.

“It meant a lot to get the offer,” he said on what the offer from Florida means to him. “It means a lot to get to an offer from a big SEC school and it was an offer that I wanted and it will be fun to explore them and find out more about the program.”

Defensive line coach David Turner plans to visit Umanmielen after the season and he also plans to talk to the defensive end about how he would be used in Gainesville.

“Coach Turner is coming to see me on December 3rd and he said we would talk about that then,” he said on where Florida sees him playing at on defense. “They said I play like their defensive line does and I can get after the quarterback.”

Umanmielen had planned on visiting Gainesville this coming weekend but he will now visit next month and he knows what he wants to see from Florida during the visit.

“I’m going on December 14th,” Umanmielen said on when he plans to visit Florida. “I just want to see the coaching staff and how they care about their players. I just want to watch the defensive line film and see if I can get any one on one match-ups.”

The Gators aren’t the only big school after Umanmielen as the defensive end has several other schools recruiting him hard.

“Auburn, Florida, LSU, Oregon, Texas A&M and USC are recruiting me hard,” he said. “I’m not sure which schools are going to get officials to be honest because I’m not signing until February.”
