Turner happy about his recent Florida Gators offer

The last few weeks have been busy for the Florida Gators coaching and support staff as they’ve been offering underclassmen in the 2022 and 2023 classes.

2022 defensive back Ryan Turner (6-0, 180, Hollywood, FL. Chaminade-Madonna Prep) picked up an offer from the Gators after he spoke to a support staff member.

“Coach [John Herron] Hova,” Turner said on the coach from Florida who offered him. “He said he loved my film and I can definitely play at Florida.”

Turner already claims 13 offers but a few things about the Gators offer to make this one a special one for the defensive back.

“It means a lot to me,” he said on what the offer means to him. “But it’s no bigger than the other ones, I was really happy because it’s Florida, SEC and they’re one of the DBU schools.”

Support staff member John Herron first talked to Turner’s coach and they got on the phone with the defensive back but the two didn’t get into much detail on the offer.

“Coach Hova just told my coach that he loves my film,” Turner said on what else Hova told him. “We’re going to get on the phone in a couple of days to talk more about Florida.”

Turner does know a few things about the Gators program and their history on the defensive side of the ball.

“I know that they win a lot and they have a winning tradition,” he said on what he knows about Florida. “They produce defensive backs and put them in the NFL every year. I know they have one of the top defenses every year.”

Next up for Turner is visits to several schools once the dead period is lifted and he knows a few schools he wants to visit.

“Florida is around the same as everybody else,” Turner said on his interest in Florida. “Clemson, Boston College, Penn State and West Virginia are recruiting me the hardest. I want to visit them all.”
