Tuesday’s Florida Gators’ offer was big to Graham and his family

On Tuesday, the Florida Gators offered several prospects including one from the state of Florida.

2022 linebacker Omar Graham Jr. (6-1, 205, Fort Lauderdale, FL. Stranahan) picked up an offer after he talked to one of the Gators’ assistant coaches.

“Coach [Christian] Robinson the linebackers coach,” Graham said on who offered him on Tuesday. “He mainly talked about my grades and how he watched my tape and he loved it.”

Graham was happy to receive the offer from the Gators for several reasons including making a family member happy.

“I was very excited about the offer,” he said on his reaction to the offer. “It meant a lot because my cousin who was in the Army is paralyzed and he’s a big Gator fan so as soon as I got off the phone with Coach Robinson, I couldn’t wait to tell him. “

The linebacker immediately called his cousin to tell him the news and Graham’s cousin was just as happy as the Stranahan prospect.

“He told me congrats, he seemed pretty excited also,” Graham said of the reaction of his cousin. “He has been telling the Gators should come after me but I never thought it would happen but here we are.”

Linebackers coach Christian Robinson didn’t get into much with Graham on Tuesday but the linebacker is eagerly awaiting the next call.

“He didn’t really say too much because he had to hurry up but I’m looking forward to us talking about it,” he said on his talks with Robinson. “He just said he loves my tape and my grades are very important to him.”

Over the last few years Graham has watched the Gators closely and he likes what Dan Mullen is doing in Gainesville.

“I love how they have been consistent these past years, like they’re always competing against the best teams,” Graham said on what he likes about Florida. “The coaching staff is amazing, they play in the SEC and Coach Mullen seems like a great person to play under.”

As soon as the dead period is over, Graham wants to Gainesville to see what the Gators have to offer.

“I’m very interested in them, I would like to visit after the dead period,” he said on his interest in Florida. “Florida State, West Virginia, Virginia, Rutgers and Penn State are also recruiting me hard.”
