Top prospects to visit the Florida Gators on Thursday

The Florida Gators will continue spring practices on Thursday when the Gators take the field for practice number three of the spring.

While the Gators are practicing, the coaching staff will also have several top prospects on campus for visits as they watch the team go through practice.

Prospects from the 2024 and 2025 classes will be on campus as these visits are key for the Gators going into the summer month.

GatorCountry brings you a preview of the prospects expected on campus on Thursday for spring practice.

IMG defensive lineman to visit

Billy Napier has been successful at landing prospects from IMG since he arrived in Gainesville and his top target from the powerhouse this year is defensive lineman David Stone. Stone is from Oklahoma and that has the Sooners sitting in a good spot right now, but Stone has expressed a lot of interest in the Gators early on and he has a good relationship with defensive line coach Sean Spencer. Stone is in the process of setting up official visits and the Gators are hoping to land one of those.

Top offensive lineman to visit

It’s an annual saying that the Florida Gators need offensive linemen in the class and that is again the case in the 2024 class. The Gators signed a good class in 2023 but still need to add at least four in this year’s class. On Thursday offensive lineman Ethan Calloway will visit Gainesville. Calloway plans to be in Gainesville until Saturday as he wants to get as much time around the staff as he can because he has a lot of interest in the program. The Gators currently sit as one of the top teams for Calloway.

Two other prospects to visit

Joining those two guys on campus on Thursday will be defensive back Vernon Woodward who doesn’t currently hold an offer from Florida yet but has been in contact with the coaching staff as of late.

One of the top quarterbacks in next year’s class will be on campus on Thursday when 2025 quarterback Austin Simmons visits town. Simmons doesn’t have an offer from Florida yet but that could change at any time as Simmons is a guy whose stock is on the rise.
