The Florida Gators make Judson feel wanted in Gainesville

The Florida Gators didn’t have a large number of visitors for the Florida Atlantic game on Saturday but the prospects they did host were big time talented players.

One of those visitors on Saturday was 2017 athlete Bruce Judson (5-9, 184, Cocoa, FL High), who enjoyed the game and the atmosphere in the Swamp on Saturday.

“It was a good visit,” Judson said. “It was a close game but the atmosphere was crazy when they won in overtime. The fans really stayed behind the team during the game and were happy to win the game.”

After the game was over with, Judson had the chance to speak with Florida Gators head coach Jim McElwain about how the Gators can use him in Gainesville.

“Coach McElwain just tells me that he needs me,” he said. “He tells me that I’m fast and he needs speed in Gainesville for my year. He said that I could be a playmaker in his style of offense at Florida and that he wants me as an athlete.”

McElwain has been recruiting Judson hard, but receiver coach Kerry Dixon has also been after Judson hard and he had a message for the 2017 athlete on Saturday.

“Coach Dixon tells me that he wants me to replace Brandon Powell when he graduates,” Judson said. “He tells me that he thinks I can play all over the offense and that he can see me getting some touches at running back too.”

Prospects that have visited Florida lately have all said that the Florida Gators coaching staff is very down to earth and straight forward and that’s exactly what Judson said on Saturday.

“I’m very close with all of the coaches at Florida like Coach Dixon, Coach [James] Rowe and Coach McElwain,” he said. “They’re all like family to me and it’s a great place to be. When I go to some colleges I can tell that they’re just telling me what I want to hear but I don’t get that feeling at Florida.”

That close knit family feel has made Judson feel comfortable enough to talk to the Gators a lot, even though he thinks that’s he bugs the coaches sometimes.

“I talk to Florida all the time really,” Judson said. “Some times I don’t call Coach Dixon every week because I think he’s busy but Coach Dixon told me that he likes hearing from me and to call him anytime.”

This was the fourth visit to Gainesville for Judson this year and he will make it five next weekend when he returns for the Florida State game.

“I’m going to be back at Florida next week for the Florida State game,” he said. “I have some family and some of my teammates coming to the game with me because I want to see the atmosphere for the game. I think it’s going to be real loud for that game.”

Insider Report: Judson named Florida State his leader last week on Twitter but I think Florida is the team to beat. Judson is very close with the Gators coaching staff plus he’s close with his teammate Chauncey Gardner, who’s already committed to Florida for 2016.
