Tennessee commit Jordan Phillips enjoys the Swamp atmosphere

Several prospects committed to other schools were in Gainesville for the Florida vs Alabama game last Saturday afternoon.

Tennessee defensive line commit Jordan Phillips (6-2, 300, Ocoee, FL. High) was on campus and enjoyed the visit.

“It was pretty cool,” Phillips said of his visit to Florida for the Bama game. “It was pretty good atmosphere, it was Bama/Florida, the fans were crazy. I’ve only been to three college football games in my life but that was the loudest.”

Phillips has been to both of Florida’s home games this year and he says a lot of that is to support a good friend of his.

“It’s in town and I have a friend who plays on the team [Daquan Newkirk],” he said on what keeps him coming back to visit Florida. “It’s more me just supporting him because he used to come to all of my games.”

Defensive line coach David Turner was at Phillips’ high school game two weeks ago and he has a message for the Tennessee commit.

“He says I do a good job and to keep working,” Phillips said on the message from David Turner to him. “He says Florida is a great place and stuff like that. He sees me playing everything from the 4, 3, to the 1, even 0 depending on the scheme.”

Next up for Phillips will likely be a return trip to Gainesville to watch the team he’s currently committed too.

“Probably, we will see,” he said on if he plans to visit Florida for the Tennessee game. “I have two official visits left but we will see [who gets them].”
