TE Tommy Douglas commits to the Florida Gators

The Florida Gators picked up their 7th commitment for the Class of 2027 on Thursday from an out of state target as the Gators have picked up three commits now in the last week.

Tight end Tommy Douglas (6-4, 245, Princeton, NJ. Hun) committed to Florida over Alabama and Penn State on Thursday.

“There’s no place better than the Swamp,” Douglas said on social media.

Douglas who visited Gainesville this spring with his father who’s former NFL GM Joe Douglas and loved the visit and his time around the coaching staff.

The tight end had a solid junior year where he caught 33 passes for 640 yards and seven touchdowns for his high school.

Douglas is the athletic tight end that tight ends coach Evan McKissack likes as he’s a guy that can catch passes but can also help in the run game for the offense.

With Douglas’ commitment the Gators now have two tight end commits as he joins tight end Jackson Ballinger in the class already.

Douglas is also the 7th commit in the class as he joins quarterback Davin Davidson, Ballinger, offensive lineman Max Hiller, defensive backs Aamaury Fountain and Amare Nugent and receiver Tramond Collins in the class.
