The Florida Gators picked up two commitments from prospects on campus for Saturday’s Orange and Blue spring game.
2022 receiver Syveion Ellis (6-5, 200, Brunswick, GA. High) was the Gators first commitment in the class of 2022 and it was a dream come true for the receiver.
“With the receiving core they have now, I feel like Florida is up to good things now,” Ellis said on why he committed to Florida. “I’ve always liked Florida since I was little, it was a dream school.”
Ellis liked several things while on campus on Saturday as he watched the Gators spring game.
“Great atmosphere around,” Ellis said on what he liked about Florida. “Just getting to know the coaches more, bringing my family here, chilling and having a good time. Everything was great.”
While on campus, Ellis picked up an offer before committing and the receiver was caught off guard by the offer.
“I knew I was going to get but it was just unexpected then,” he said on getting an offer from Florida early in his career. “It was pretty impressive to talk to Coach Dan [Mullen], Florida is great.”
Ellis was impressed by the Swamp on Saturday and the fans who showed up just to watch Florida’s spring game.
“That’s what really got me, the way the fans showed up for a spring game,” Ellis said of the spring game attendance. “It wasn’t a packed stadium like a game day but it was pretty packed for a spring game.”
