Sumrall gives injury report entering Week 2

Head coach Jon Sumrall provided the media with an injury report Monday following Florida’s Week 1 win over FAU.

Senior wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr. is “highly questionable” for Florida’s Week 2 matchup against Campbell after suffering an ankle injury seven plays into the season opener.

Senior defensive lineman Emmanuel Oyebadejo is also highly questionable with a “very similar injury,” according to Sumrall.

“They’re not out today. They’re out at practice some, but not able to participate. And so we won’t really know until probably the middle to later in the week what their real availability is, but they’re definitely not probable as of right now,” Sumrall said of Singleton Jr. and Oyebadejo.

Senior tight end Evan Chieca has been dealing with a lower-body injury over the last few weeks and is progressing after missing the season opener.

“Chieca’s more and more and more, so he’s getting more,” Sumrall said. “We’ll see what that means for this weekend, but he’s back doing more, so he’s close.”

Junior offensive lineman Eagan Boyer missed the season opener. Sumrall expects him to be a full participant at practice tomorrow and available for Saturday’s matchup.

Freshman wide receiver Davian Groce was also in street clothes against FAU. He’ll be out “at least another week” with a back strain.

Sophomore cornerback J’Vari Flowers left Florida’s season opener late in the third quarter with a cramp. He’s good to go.

Senior running back Evan Pryor played seven snaps against FAU but could not continue due to hip discomfort. Sumrall noted postgame that Pryor was cleared to play but didn’t feel like he could continue. There is no further update on Pryor at this time.
