Story has a “great” visit with the Florida Gators

The Florida Gators hosted two defensive prospects on campus this weekend and both guys were on the defensive line.

Defensive end Caden Story (6-3, 282, Lanett, AL. High) visited Gainesville and enjoyed getting to learn about the tradition of Florida.

“The visit to Florida was great,” Story said of his visit. “Great coaching staff with a lot of energy, the support system and tradition behind Florida is amazing. The new facility is amazing.”

Defensive line coach Sean Spencer spent a lot of time with Story this weekend and the Alabama native liked his energy.

“Coach Spencer, a lot of energy, great dude,” he said on his impressions of Sean Spencer. “He was telling me the way he could develop me, the plans for me and things like that.”

Spencer and the rest of the defensive staff explained to Story this weekend just how they would use him on defense, and they showed him video of that plan.

“Defensive end,” Story said on where Florida wants him to play. “The things that he was doing in the NFL and other places, he pulled up and showed me what he could do for me and how he would do it.”

On Sunday, Story sat down with Coach Napier who had a message about the future of Florida and the plans for him.

“It was great, it was amazing,” he said sitting down with Coach Napier on Sunday. “Just to sit down with him and have a conversation about the university and the plan for me.”

While on campus, Story heard different messages from the players about why this coaching staff is different than the previous coaching staff.

“David Reese,” he said on who his player host was. “He was just telling me to come in work hard and they will do the rest. They will develop me and get me to where I want to be. The players were just telling me that things are different, and they really enjoy the new staff better because they came in strictly business.”

Story says he’s down to Auburn, Clemson, and Florida and he says the next few days he will spend time talking things over.

“I’m just going to pray on it and keep talking to my parents about the three schools,” Story said on what’s next for him as he’s down to Auburn, Florida, and Clemson. “We will see on signing day.”

One thing that Story wants out of the school he picks is to be able to feel comfortable with the coaches and people around the university.

“Just knowing when I get dropped off that I’m going to have uncles that are going to treat me like one of their own,” he said on what he’s looking for in a school. “Just not leave me for dead and abandon me.”
