Spivey Senses: New coach means new targets

Florida’s coaching staff is close to being finalized and new head coach Jim McElwain and his coordinators have already been hard at work recruiting for the class of 2015 with recruiting coordinator Drew Hughes helping lead the way for the Florida Gators.

McElwain and company have been putting together a recruiting board while also determining what they need in this class as they wait for the dead period to end on January 16th.

Starting January 16th the Gators will host official visitors as well as start visiting prospects at their schools.

In this edition of Spivey Senses I’m going to get everyone caught up on all things Florida recruiting and update everyone on some new names to watch for now that McElwain is the head coach.

Andrew always knew he wanted to be involved with sports in some capacity. He began by coaching high school football for six years before deciding to pursue a career in journalism. While coaching, he was a part of two state semifinal teams in the state of Alabama. Given his past coaching experience, he figured covering recruiting would be a perfect fit.
