Singleton breaks down Tuesday’s Florida Gators offer

On Tuesday, the Florida Gators offered a pair of 2022 running backs from out of programs as the coaching staff expands the recruiting board for next year.

2022 running back Nicholas Singleton (5-11, 195, Reading, PA. Governor Mifflin) was one of those backs offered him and he heard it from one of the Gators assistant coaches.

“Tim Brewster offered me,” Singleton said of who offered him on Tuesday. “He said he enjoyed watching my film and he loved my explosion, speed and my body frame and to call once a week to start building a relationship with him.”

Singleton has several big offers already but Tuesday’s offer was another offer that showed the back that his game is being recognized by top programs.

“The offer means a lot,” he said on what the offer means to him. “It shows that all the hard work is paying off but I still have to keep working. I was very fired up and happy about getting the offer.”

Tight ends coach Tim Brewster explained to Singleton on Tuesday just how he would fit into the Gators offense and what they like about his game.

“He really just said I would be a perfect fit because of the type of formations they have in their offense,” Singleton said on what Brewster said to him. “He didn’t really say how they would use me but that he liked my speed, explosion, and vision.”

Singleton doesn’t know a whole lot about the Gators program but he does know Dan Mullen’s history.

“As of now, I know they play in the SEC and they won three national championships,” he said on what he knows about Florida. “I heard Coach Mullen was a great coach and a nice person and he also coached at Mississippi State for a couple of years.”

The Gators will now look to get Singleton on campus but the running back says that should happen as the running back has family close to Gainesville.

“I’m very interested in learning the academics and seeing the facilities and meeting the coaching staff,” Singleton said on his interest in Florida. “I will be looking forward to going down to see the campus, plus I have family in Florida that live in Ocala.”
