Silvestri named director of sports health

Paul Silvestri has been promoted to director of sports health for football.

He has been on the UF staff since 2013 and will oversee the training room alongside associate director Tony Hill.

Silvestri has helped the program overcome COVID-related obstacles over the past two seasons.

He graduated from UF in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in exercise and sports science, and he earned a master’s degree in kinesiology from the University of Kentucky in 2003.

He started his career as an athletic trainer at Florida Atlantic in 2003. He spent three years there before serving as an assistant athletic trainer at Kentucky in 2007 and 2008.

Utah hired him as its head football athletic trainer prior to the 2008 season, and he spent five seasons there before joining the UF staff.
