Silver enjoys the Florida Gators atmosphere in the Swamp

The Florida Gators have already offered a lot of 2021 prospects and a lot of those guys have already made visits to Gainesville and that continued two weeks ago for the Vanderbilt game.

2021 defensive end Keeshawn Silver (6-5, 236, Rocky Mount, NC. High) was on campus and liked the atmosphere for the game.

“It was a good pretty visit, it was an exciting visit,” Silver said of his visit to Florida for the Vanderbilt game. “I got a different vibe there and I’ve never been around a crowd like that in the SEC. That was my first time to visit Florida.”

While on campus, Silver had the chance to talk with several coaches including recruiting assistant David Cooper who explained the need for him in Gainesville.

“I talked to Coach Dan Mullen, Coach Cooper and Coach [David] Turner,” he said on the coaches he talked to. “Coach Coop was telling me he was glad to have me there and he was telling me about the depth and a little bit about the school and the facilities.”

Cooper and defensive line coach David Turner also explained how they see Silver fitting into the Gators defense if he comes to Florida.

“They said it’s hard to tell because I’m still growing right now,” Silver said on where Florida sees him playing. “They said as my body grows they want to try me at defensive end and if grow a lot then they will move me to the three technique inside.”

Head coach Dan Mullen spent time with Silver explaining more about the school and the academics in Gainesville.

“Me and Coach Mullen were just talking about the school and the facilities,” he said on his talks with the other coaches. “Coach Turner was just telling me about the depth and he said they don’t have a lot of people on the depth chart so he was telling me about the process.”

Just days before Silver visited Gainesville, he received an offer from the Gators and it was one that he has been waiting on.

“Coach Turner was the one who offered me and he said he liked my film,” Silver said of the coach who offered him. “It means that I’m starting to get noticed more and I’m a big fan of Florida, I like the defense down there.”
