Several highly ranked prospects to visit the Florida Gators

For the third straight weekend, prospects from all across the southeast will be in Gainesville to watch the Florida Gators go through spring practice.

Billy Napier and his coaching staff are scheduled have one of their top quarterbacks on campus as well as several other highly rated guys.

GatorCountry brings you a preview of the prospects that are expected in Gainesville this weekend.

Offensive side of the ball

Last week, Napier and his staff hosted quarterback Dante Moore on campus and this weekend and quarterback Dylan Lonergan will make the trip to town. The Gators offered Lonergan a few weeks ago and now they will attempt to gain momentum with him. South Carolina is the team talked about the most.

Quarterback Marcus Stokes of Nease high school will also be in town and while hasn’t offered him yet, the Gators have been in talks with the quarterback. If the Gators do offer Stokes, Florida was jump up in his recruitment instantly.

Georgia offensive line commit Bo Hughley plans to make his first visit to campus this weekend. Hughley has visited Auburn as well and after the coaching change in Athens, the Gators are hoping to make a move in his recruitment as well.

Offensive lineman Tommy Kinsler has been a frequent visitor to Gainesville during his recruitment and has called the Gators his top school in the past, but this will be his first time to see the staff in action. The Gators will look to continue the momentum with the lineman this weekend.

Tight end Jelani Thurman is teammates with Hughley at Langston Hughes High and plans to be on campus this weekend. Florida hasn’t offered Thurman yet but several schools including Auburn and Florida State have.

Defensive prospects coming to town

Headlining the defensive side of the ball this weekend will once again be a top-notch defensive back as cornerback Tony Mitchell will be in town for the second time this year. Mitchell is originally from Florida and that has helped the Gators a lot. Corey Raymond has done a good job of recruiting Mitchell and that will continue to keep Florida in the mix.

Defensive lineman Vic Burley is one of the top-rated guys in the country and the new staff is looking forward to meeting the Georgia native. Clemson is the team talked about the most with Burley and the Gators hope to change that this weekend.

Safety Terrance Love is expected to make his first trip to town this weekend when he joins his teammates from Langston Hughes on campus. Auburn has been talked the most with Love but if the Gators were to offer him this weekend that could change.

Linebacker Lewis Carter will make the short drive up from Tampa on Saturday as he will visit with the new staff for the first time. Carter is a guy who can play multiple positions but most staff wants him at linebacker.
