SEC releases 2022 football schedule

The SEC unveiled the 2022 conference football schedule during an hour-long special on the SEC Network on Tuesday evening. The Gators will travel to Texas A&M for their rotating crossover game, and they’ll host LSU and play their six East division rivals.

The Gators traveled to Texas A&M in 2020 as one of their two additional crossover games that were added to the 10-game, conference-only schedule. Despite this, the SEC opted not to reset its scheduling rotation, so UF will make the trip to College Station for the second time in three years.

The Gators will open conference play at home in week two against Kentucky. They’ll travel to Tennessee for their second SEC game before playing the next two at home against Missouri and LSU.

The schedule-makers didn’t do any favors for the Gators with their placement of the Texas A&M game. They’ll travel to College Station the week after playing Georgia in Jacksonville.

They’ll finish out conference play by hosting South Carolina and traveling to Vanderbilt.

With Tuesday’s announcement, UF’s 2022 schedule is now complete.

The Gators will open the season at home against Utah in the front-end of a home-and-home series. They’ll also host South Florida and Eastern Washington in nonconference play and travel to Florida State for the annual rivalry game.
