Searcy believes the 2023 recruiting class can fill needs for the Florida Gators

On Saturday night, most of the Florida Gators recruiting class was in the Swamp to watch the Gators take on the LSU Tigers.

Defensive line commit TJ Searcy (6-5, 250, Thomaston, GA. Upson-Lee) was on campus and liked the energy in the Swamp.

“The environment was great,” Searcy said of his visit to Florida on Saturday. “It was a great atmosphere overall; the fans were crazy. It was a good game for sure.”

While watching the game on Saturday, Searcy noticed some things that the Gators need on the field to help them improve.

“One thing that stood out to me was we need edge rushers,” he said on what stood out to him. “We need pass rushers so we can get pressure on the quarterback here. I think our recruiting class is going to bring that pressure.”

Searcy believes that what Billy Napier has built in the recruiting class will help the Gators in a lot of ways including what Searcy brings to the table.

“With our recruiting class, we really have all of the pieces,” Search said on what the 2023 class can bring to the table. “I think I can bring a balanced edge player that can do everything they need me to do.”

Outside linebackers coach Mike Peterson has been the main coach recruiting Searcy and the two spoke on Saturday while he was in Gainesville.

“I talked to Coach Mike P [Peterson] before the game,” he said on coaches he spoke to. “Pretty much he was just checking on me and seeing how I was doing.”

INSIDERS TAKE: Searcy says he plans to early enroll in December.
