Rucker has a good visit for Friday Night Lights

The Florida Gators had a few of their recent decommits on campus for Friday Night Lights including two local prospects.

2021 receiver Trevonte Rucker (5-11, 157, Ocala, FL. Vanguard) was on campus and got the chance to speak with several of the coaches who have been recruiting him.

“It was a good day,” Rucker said of his visit to Florida on Friday. “I talked to Coach [Billy] Gonzales and Coach [Christian] Robinson about a couple of things. They were asking me how my summer was going and stuff like that.”

Rucker ended up working out for the coaching staff but his main intention of the trip was to talk with Dan Mullen and his staff.

“I really just wanted to talk Coach Robinson, Coach Mullen and Coach Gonzales,” he said on what he wanted to get out of the visit. “I just did the camp to do it and I think I did good.”

The 2021 receiver opened his recruitment this spring but Rucker says there’s nothing he needs to see from the Gators.

“They don’t have to do nothing, I’m just enjoying the process,” Rucker said on what needs to show him. “The process has been good, schools have been hitting me up and I’m just working.”

The Gators aren’t the only big name team after Rucker as several other schools are recruiting him hard since his decommitment from Florida.

“Florida, LSU, Penn State and Florida State,” he said on schools recruiting him hard. “Nobody is really standing out right now.”

INSIDERS TAKE: Rucker says he hopes to visit LSU, Georgia and Georgia Tech before school starts back but he doesn’t have any dates for those visits yet.
