Robinson enjoys seeing everything the Florida Gators have to offer

It’s a big year for the Florida Gators on the defensive line as the Gators need to add some depth at the position in the 2024 class.

Last weekend, the Gators hosted of their top defensive line targets in D’Antre Robinson (6-4, 300, Orlando, FL. Jones) who got to meet all of the staff in Gainesville.

“This visit was very good,” Robinson said of his visit to UF. “I got to see the coaches, I got to meet all of the coaches, the weight room people and all of that.”

While on campus, Robinson got the chance to hang out with a fellow defensive lineman who explained what he likes about the Gators.

“Caleb [Banks],” he said on who his player’s host was. “He said he really likes Florida, he said he said he’s a Detroit guy but he’s really loving the Florida Gators.

Defensive line coach Sean Spencer spent a lot of time with Robinson during the visit and explained what he likes about the Orlando native’s game.

“It was really good to meet with Coach Chaos [Sean Spencer], he was teaching me a few things,” Robinson said on meeting with Spencer. “His message to me is that he really thinks I can be a franchise player with my size and ability to move around.”

Spencer and defensive coordinator Austin Armstrong explained to Robinson just how the Gators would use him in Gainesville if he picks Florida.

“They want to use me all over the defensive line,” he said on where Spencer wants him at. “They feel like I can do stunts and be a first, second, and third down player. That’s what they really like me.”

During the trip, Robinson has several highlights, but he says spending time in the weight room and seeing how things works was a big key in his visit.

“One thing that caught my attention was how the weight room trainers, they train their players outside of just weightlifting,” Robinson said. “The players can go and train with the weight room trainers outside of weightlifting.”

Robinson isn’t ready to narrow down his list of schools yet but he says this visit this weekend helped the Gators.

“It helped Florida,” he said on if the visit helped Florida’s chances. “They showed me a lot, they showed me a lot of the school outside of football, the dorms and the players have a really good bond.”

Next up for Robinson will be more visits and then he could take some more in the fall before making a commitment.

“I don’t have any top schools right now,” he said on leaders. “I have Ohio State next week, then Texas and then Georgia. I may make a decision during the season.”
