Robinson enjoyed the energy around spring practice in Gainesville

Tuesday was the first day of spring practice for the Florida Gators and the coaching staff had several top targets on campus to watch that practice.

Linebacker Jaden Robinson (6-1, 215, Lake City, FL. Columbia) was on hand for the practice and enjoyed getting to see everything on campus.

“It went good,” Robinson said of his visit on Tuesday. “I got on campus and went to the weight room, the facilities, and then watched practice.”

Florida’s two linebacker coaches spent the most time around Robinson on Tuesday and he was impressed with their personalities during the visit.

“Mike P [Mike Peterson] and Coach [Jay] Bateman,” he said on the coaches he was around the most. “They’re great coaches and great guys. They have great energy.”

Robinson also had the chance to watch the Gators go through practice and he watched the linebackers very close, and he liked the way the coaches handled that position.

“It was great, they had a lot of high energy,” Robinson said of practice. “They were flying around, and I like the way they coach their linebackers in drills. It was all about fundamentals.”

While talking with Bateman and Peterson on Tuesday they explained that they like the way Robinson plays and that he’s wanted in Gainesville.

“Just linebacker right now,” he said on what the coaches have told him about where he would play. “They haven’t said Mike or Will yet but that will be up to Coach Bateman. They like that I play well at the Mike, and they need me.”

Robinson doesn’t have an offer from the Gators yet but he was told that could change soon and that would put Florida high on the linebackers board.

“He said it was close,” Robinson said on what Bateman told him about a potential offer. “My interest is very high; it would be good if they offered. I have a great relationship with the coaching staff.”
