Rice enjoyed the Florida Gators hospitality on Saturday

The Florida Gators hosted several underclassmen on Saturday for the Gators big win over Towson in the Swamp.

2021 offensive lineman Zach Rice (6-5, 300, Lynchburg, VA. Liberty Christian Academy) was one campus and enjoyed getting to see the university has to offer.

“It was amazing, Rice said of his visit to Florida on Saturday. “It was a lot of hospitality and care at the University. We got to visit their academic facilities and basically all their fields on a golf cart.”

Rice was impressed by the Gators facilities on Saturday and also how the academic team supports football players off the field.

“They were amazing and very serious with all with all of their achievements,” he said on his impressions of the facilities. “I loved the energy and how they treat their athletes.”

The Gators impressed Rice on the field but offensive line coach John Hevesy also impressed with his coaching style for the linemen.

“I already knew they were going to beat them, I really like the hurry up offense,” Rice said of his impressions of Florida’s offense. “I liked how the receivers were impressive, the offensive line was the best part, I loved how they blocked, they’re technically sound and physical and you can tell that he only recruits the best offensive line that have the best looking posture in college.”

While on campus Rice had the chance to meet with several coaches including recruiting support staff member Charles Skalaski.

“I talked to every coach there,” he said on the coaches he talked to on Saturday. “But Saturday I built a good relationship with Charles Skalaski and the offensive line coach [John Hevesy.]”

Hevesy explained to Rice on Saturday that the Gators are in the process of improving their facilities and also what he liked about the 2021 lineman.

“I really liked how he complimented me on my body,” Rice said of the message from Hevesy. “All the coaches and he was saying a lot about his offensive line and letting me meet them and telling me that all that I see in college will probably be new.”

Skalaski was a big reason that Rice visited Gainesville on Saturday and the two have some things in common that they discussed on Saturday.

“The same thing about my body,” he said of the message from support staff member Skalaski. “He used to coach with my coach down in Lynchburg so we had a lot in common and he was the first one to introduce me to the university itself and he gave me the offer and he’s a very nice man.”

Now that Rice has visited Florida, the lineman has interest in the Gators and he also knows another visit he wants to take.

“I’m very interest in Florida but one visit isn’t enough,” Rice said of his interest in Florida. “I’m also really trying to get down for a Penn State game cause they offered me two weeks ago.”
