Recruiting reaction to the Florida Gators firing Dan Mullen

Dan Mullen has been fired as head coach football coach for the Florida Gators on Saturday after the Gators lost to Missouri in overtime.

The Gators recruiting class currently sits with 13 commits in the 2022 class and 3 in the 2023 class under Mullen’s staff.

While it’s always big when a head coach is fired, it’s even bigger with the early signing period now taking place in December.

GatorCountry talked to several recruits around the country to get their thoughts on Mullen’s firing as Gators’ head coach.

JUCO defensive tackle Jeffrey M’Ba-“I won’t say I was shocked but that was big at the same time.”

Florida defensive tackle commit Francois Nolton-“ Right now, I don’t know.”

2023 running back target Seth Davis-“Disappointed but still considering Florida as one of my top schools.”

2023 athlete target Creed Whittemore-“Yeah I mean I’m very grateful for what he did for me, he took a chance on me. All I can say is thank you.”

2023 receiver Bryson Rogers-“Man, hard loss.”

2023 lineman Vysen Lang-“I’m still rocking with coach. Wherever he goes, I’ll still be cheering him on.”

2023 offensive lineman Clay Wedin-“I hate to see anyone lose their job but I’m excited to see who the new staff will be though. I really would like have Florida as an option but will just have to wait and see who they bring in.”

Offensive line coach Matthew McCoy-“Crazy to me, I liked him a lot and we had a strong relationship.”

GC will continue to add more to this as more reactions come in.
