Receiver Joshua Moore commits to the Florida Gators over FSU

The Florida Gators picked up a big commitment on Wednesday from one of their top targets on the offensive side of the ball.

Receiver Joshua Moore (6-3, 205, Pembroke Pines, FL. West Broward) committed to Florida over Florida State on Tuesday just days after he was on campus in Gainesville.

“This was the decision that was best for me, Go Gators,” Moore said.

Moore also took an official visit to Gainesville earlier this month and during that time on campus, he was able to spend time with quarterback DJ Lagway.

“They got a general, a quarterback,” Moore said of Lagway and the Gators. “Everyone else ain’t got a quarterback,” Moore said. “They got great academic support, and they’re building something.”

Receivers coach Billy Gonzales also impressed Moore during the visit when they broke down film together.

“It was just awesome,” Moore said on spending time with Gonzales. “We went to the film room and we watched film with me and he coached me up and I picked up on it easy. I could see him coaching me up in the future.”

Moore also learned more about Gonzales’ coaching history and the amount of players he has put in the league and that caught the receivers attention.

“That just gives me more confidence in him to be able to get me to the next level and develop me,” Moore said on Gonzales’ coaching history.”

With Moore’s commitment, the Gators now have seven commitments in the Class of 2025 and he’s the first receiver in the class as the coaching staff would like to add at least two more at the position.
