The Florida Gators picked up their 8th commitment for the Class of 2027 on Saturday afternoon from an instate prospect.
Receiver Anthony Jennings (6-0, 165, Fort Lauderdale, FL. Dillard) committed to Florida over Auburn, FSU, Maryland, and Syracuse on Saturday.
Jennings has been to Gainesville several times this year and every time the coaching staff has made sure to let him know that he’s a top target for the staff.
“They were just saying that I’m a big priority in this class,” he said on the message from the staff. “They want me to take over the 2027 wide receiver class so that was the main message today. They just wanted to show me love and get me back on campus.”
In January, during his first visit to Gainesville under Jon Sumrall, Jennings got a lot of face time with the staff.
“It was more advanced, I got more meetings with like the general manager, the head coach Jon Sumrall, the receivers coach too,” Jennings said on what he got to do. “Just different meetings, meeting new coaches, new coaching styles. Coach Sumrall is a great guy too. Him and Marcus Davis kind of remind me of each other. He’s a great guy, pretty cool guy.”
Jennings is the 8th commitment in the class and joins receiver Tramond Collins, tight ends Jackson Ballinger and Tommy Douglas, quarterback Davin Davidson, offensive lineman Maxwell Hiller, and defensive backs Amare Nugent and Aamaury Fountain in the class.
