RB Byron Louis flips from Florida State to Florida

The Florida Gators picked up their 19th commitment of the Class of 2025 on Tuesday and also their fourth commitment in the last two days.

Running back Byron Louis (5-11, 200, Fort Lauderdale, FL. American Heritage) flipped his commitment from Florida State to Florida on Tuesday.

Louis took an unofficial visit to Gainesville two weeks ago for the LSU game and returned this past weekend for an official visit and to watch the Gators beat Ole Miss.

The Gators already have two running backs committed in the class but the opportunity to get Louis was just too good to pass up for the Gators’ coaching staff.

Louis has carried the ball 157 times for 1,313 yards and 13 touchdowns this year and added 17 catches for 229 yards and three more touchdowns as a receiver.

The American Heritage native has ran for 3,000 yards in his career and scored 44 touchdowns against some of the best competition in the state.

Louis joins running back commits Chad Gasper and Waltez Clark in the class but Gasper is dealing with a torn ACL that could sideline him for a lot of next season so adding Louis was big for depth reasons as Montrell Johnson graduates.
