Raymond Cottrell commits to the Florida Gators

The Florida Gators picked up their second commitment of the Class of 2023 on Friday from an instate prospect.

2023 WR Raymond Cottrell (6-2, 203, Milton, FL. High) committed to the Gators on Friday while visiting campus for the Gators big camp to end the month of July.

“I will be committing to the University of Florida,” Cottrell tweeted.

Cottrell picked up an offer from Florida back in May and the receiver called a big offer to him because he grew up watching the Gators.

“It meant a lot, they’re my dream school,” he said on what the offer means to him. “They’re somewhere that I’ve been wanting to go to for a long time, I expected it but I didn’t expect the offer to come as soon as it did.”

The 2023 receiver didn’t get to visit Gainesville last year but he watched a lot of Florida games on TV and he likes the Gators’ offense.

“I think of it very highly since I’ve been watching them,” he said on his thoughts on the offense. “They don’t try to just get one person the ball, they try to get everyone involved including the tight ends, slot, and the receivers.”

This has been a busy summer for Cottrell as several teams have offered the 2023 receiver like Alabama, Tennessee, Auburn, Florida State, and more.
