November and December are always months to watch as guys decommit and look for new schools but it’s usually because of a coaching change but on Thursday a prospect decommitted for other reasons.
Miami quarterback Jaden Rashada (6-4, 185, Pittsburg, CA. High) decommitted from Miami and flipped to Florida on Thursday.
“God is great,” Rashada tweeted. “I’m home. #GoGators.”
Rashada who had the Florida Gators as one of his finalists when he committed to the Canes is someone that the coaching staff continued pursuing despite his commitment over the summer
Billy Napier and the Gators have four quarterbacks on the roster right now but with the possibility that Anthony Richardson leaves after the season, the coaching staff wanted a second quarterback in the class to join Marcus Stokes.
Rashada is also a guy that could help lure others to join him in Gainesville as he has been a big recruiter for the Canes’ class.
Now that Rashada has flipped, expect the quarterback to work on bringing some offensive linemen and other weapons with him to Gainesville
This season Rashada is 148-231 passing with 2,122 yards through the air and he has thrown 25 touchdowns while only throwing eight interceptions. The quarterback has also added 247 yards on the ground and another three touchdowns.
