The Florida Gators picked up their second commitment in as many days as they picked up an in state signal caller on Thursday.
Quarterback Davin Davidson (6-6, 215, Sarasota, FL. Cardinal Mooney) committed to the Gators on Thursday evening over Georgia and many others as the quarterback has 32 offers already.
“I will be committing to the University of Florida. Go Gators.”
Davidson has seen his recruitment exploded this offseason after a very successful junior year where he led Cardinal Mooney to the state championship after throwing for 2,360 yards and 23 touchdowns while also running for 81 yards and another 3 touchdowns.
The Gators made Davidson a priority back in January when they offered him during a junior day visit after head coach Jon Sumrall visited him on the first day of the January visit period.
Davidson who has a huge arm is a guy known for being accurate quarterback who likes to throw first but isn’t afraid to pull down and run to extend the plays.
Now that the Gators have Davidson in the class, the hope is that he get others to join the class as the quarterback has been recruiting several other top players including many top offensive line targets who have been on campus in the past with Davidson.
Davidson is the fifth commit in the 2027 class for the Gators as he joins offensive lineman Maxwell Hiller, receiver Tramond Collins, tight end Jackson Ballinger and defensive back Amare Nugent in the class.
