DJ LAGWAY

The cornerstone of Florida’s 2024 class will be in attendance this weekend. The five-star quarterback will travel from Willis, Texas to put his talents on display for the country to see.

“The biggest compliment I can give DJ is that, as much attention as he has received throughout the recruiting process, he’s a better human being, he’s a better leader. His character, his faith, his example, the way he treats people, his work ethic, his focus, his drive to get better,” Florida’s head coach Billy Napier said on Lagway.

Lagway led Willis High School to their best season in school history, finishing 12-1 with a loss to Desto High School in round three of the playoffs. Desto would go on to win the state championship. The 6’2, 225 pound QB was named 2023 MaxPreps National Player of the Year for his efforts during his senior season. Lagway tossed for 4,604 yards and 58 passing touchdowns throughout the 2023 season.

“Ultimately, we all know DJ’s talented, but that’s not what makes him exceptional, in my opinion,” Napier said on Lagway. “It’s these intangible things that make him a difference maker. So DJ Lagway, he’s talented, but there’s a lot more to that young man than just the talent.”

Lagway will be accompanied by his father, Derek Lagway, who has shown his full support for the Florida football program throughout his son’s recruitment.

“Derek and Nikita Lagway are consummate with respect to parenting and what they’ve instilled in that young man,” Napier said on Lagway’s parents. “I went to Willis last week and had the chance to observe DJ and his team get recognized at the local school board meeting. To see him with his teammates in that community that he got recruited to leave, but he stayed there with his roots, where his family grew up. He left that place better than he found it.”

MYLES GRAHAM

Four-star linebacker Myles Graham will share the spotlight with Lagway this weekend as the Buchholz product will make his way from Gainesville to participate in the Under Armour camp.

“He’s a legacy, and there’s something in Myles Graham that’s different because of that. I think Myles was our first commitment, and he was my last home visit. You’re sitting at that dinner table in his home and you’re observing his mom, his dad, his sisters, his cousins, and you observe that, and you listen to their story,” Napier said on Graham during early signing day. “It’s in him, right? He cares about this place. I think he’s an exceptional football player, but this guy’s a leader, man. He’s got presence. He’s articulate. This guy is going to do a lot more than just be a great football player for the Gators.”

Graham totaled 82 tackles (36 solo), three sacks, one interception, and one forced fumble in his senior season at Buchholz. Graham also added 600 yards rushing on 9.7 yards per carry while finding the endzone 17 times as a running back in 2023-24.

“Myles pretty well documented that he’s not just a great linebacker, he’s a heck of a running back too,” Napier said on Graham. “Myles is ready to go too. He’s physical. He’s mature. Very smart player. And he’s been very consistent and vocal, right? I think that’s one of the reasons we were able to finish with a really good group is because of his leadership presence and the way he kind of carried the flag for this class.”

AARON CHILES

The 6’3, 220-pound linebacker is the third and final Gator representing Team Fire this weekend. The four-star prospect was named 2023 Maryland High School Football Player of the Year for his efforts at Our Lady of Good Counsel. In 2022, Chiles recorded 74 tackles, 10 sacks, 15 TFLs, 2 FF, 2 FR.

Chiles was one of the bigger surprises in Florida’s 2024 class, committing to Florida in June over Michigan.

“Florida felt like home,” Chiles said on why he committed to Florida. “I love the atmosphere and the coaching staff at Florida.”

BOBBY ENGSLTER

PWO punter Bobby Engslter will be the lone Gators’ representative of Team Ice. The 6-0, 200-pound punter visited FSU twice before committing to Florida on December 7th, of 2023. Engslter will travel from Tallahassee to participate in the week of events.
