Previewing Dan Mullen’s first Florida Gators official visit weekend

The Florida Gators will host their first official visit weekend under new head coach Dan Mullen starting on Friday afternoon when several commits and targets arrive on campus.

With just two weeks to go until the early signing period, the Gators staff is trying to nail down a few final pieces that plan to early enroll or sign early on December 20th.

While next weekend is shaping up to be a bigger weekend, this weekend still has several intriguing names on the list including a few commits that will meet the staff for the first time.

GatorCountry brings you a look at the Florida Gators recruiting visitors list for this weekend.

Commits visiting

Four of Florida’s current commits are scheduled to visit Gainesville this weekend where they will get the chance to really get to know the new Gators coaching staff.

Offensive line commit Chris Bleich (6-6, 305, Plymouth, PA. Wyoming Valley West) will be making his first ever trip to Gainesville on Friday as the lineman committed to Florida without ever taking a visit to Florida. Bleich was a former UCLA commit before flipping to Florida.

Joining Bleich this weekend is scheduled to be running back commit Dameon Pierce and defensive back commits Amari Burney and Randy Russell. All three of those guys have received in-home visits with Mullen already but haven’t had the chance to meet the new coaches on staff.

All four of the commits visiting Gainesville this weekend are expected to sign with Florida on December 20th and early enroll at Florida in January.

Mullen looking to flip former commit

Mullen has caused some Mississippi State fans to get upset with him because of his pursuit of several of his former commits of the Bulldogs and this weekend he will host one of those commits on campus.

Mississippi State kicker commit Evan McPherson (6-0, 165, Fort Payne, AL. High) is scheduled to take his official visit to Florida this weekend after he cancelled his visit to Starksville. McPherson is an Under Armour All-American is ranked as one of the top kickers in the country and has been a priority to Mullen since his time at Mississippi State.

Unofficial visit

This time of the year it’s usually all official visits for seniors but the Gators will host a rare unofficial visitor this weekend.

Florida State offensive line commit Christian Meadows (6-3, 330, Montezuma, GA. Macon County) is planning on visiting Florida on his own dime this weekend before he returns in January for an official visit. Meadows is keeping his options open after Jimbo Fisher left Tallahassee. Meadows who has family in Florida is looking hard at both Florida and Miami right now.
