Pittman likes the environment around the Florida Gators

The Florida Gators have sent out several new tight-end offers this week as the staff is now wanting a tight end in the Class of 2023.

Florida State tight end commit Randy Pittman (6-2, 230, Lynn Haven, FL. A. Crawford Mosley) was on campus on Saturday and enjoyed practice.

“It was amazing out there,” Pittman said of how Florida’s practice went. “The tempo that was going on, the way Coach [Billy] Napier was moving everyone around and coaching. He was teaching everyone.”

Pittman had the chance to watch tight ends coach William Peagler in action on Saturday for the first time.

“I was able to watch him work with the tight ends,” he said on watching Peagler. “Watch them do different drills, different types of blocks, zone blocks, read blocks, and stuff like that.”

Peagler and Pittman also had the chance to talk in-depth after practice and they were able to talk about how he would fit into things.

“We met afterward in his office,” Pittman said on talking with Peagler. “It was nice, we broke down some offensive plays and schemes. A lot of that is the way they use me in my offense now, kind of like an H-back role. It’s very interesting.”

This week, Peagler sent out three offers at the position as the staff noticed they need a tight end in the class and that was relayed to Pittman on Saturday.

“It wasn’t nothing uncomfortable,” he said on Peagler’s pitch to him. “He was just like this is what we do, you can watch this guy and we have an opportunity for you. Stuff like that. Coach Peagler mentioned that they moved over a defensive end over to tight end to fill the hole. They mentioned that to me.”

After the visit, Pittman says he remains committed to Florida State but he says he does like the feeling in Gainesville.

“Mainly the environment,” Pittman said on what he likes about Florida. “I just keep coming back to see if this is the place for me. I’m just trying to figure it out.”
