Pinder ready to compare the Florida Gators and North Carolina

Two prospects that were committed to other programs were in Gainesville this weekend taking official visits to see the Florida Gators.

North Carolina defensive tackle commit Clyde Pinder (6-1, 303, Seffner, FL. Armwood) was one of those and he enjoyed the atmosphere in Gainesville.

“Just getting the whole experience of Florida vibes and seeing how everything is,” Pinder said on how the official visit was different than other visits. “Seeing how Coach Mullen is doing things for the Gators, it’s pretty cool. It’s really cool, I’m just enjoying it all.”

Pinder was hosted by a guy he’s very familiar with and the current Gator had a message for the North Carolina commit.

“Zach [Carter],” he said on who his host was. “It was good, he’s from my city, we’re cool we just chopped it up. We all relate to the same thing, he just put on the message about Florida, the coaches, what’s real and what’s not real.”

Defensive line coach David Turner is someone that Pinder is close with and the defensive tackle believes in Turner as a coach.

“Hanging with Coach Turner, real cool dude,” Pinder said of hanging out with David Turner. “Good coach who knows what he’s doing. They’re working for a championship, I know he’s going to lead them to get that championship.”

Turner also explained to Pinder this weekend how the Gators would use the North Carolina commit if he comes to Florida.

“I’ll be a 3 [technique] and a 1,” he said on how Florida plans to use him. “I’ll just move down to shades. I think it’s pretty cool, North Carolina does the same thing as well. I’m just looking.”

Now that Pinder has taken an official visit to Florida and North Carolina he plans to go home and compare the two visits.

“I didn’t do that yet but I’m going to do that tonight,” Pinder said on comparing Florida to North Carolina. “Just compare and contrast and all of that. The big difference is that’s in Florida but I don’t know. I don’t have a big problem leaving the state for football but just looking at my options.”

The biggest thing helping the Gators right now is the location and the ability for Pinder’s family to be able to see him play on Saturday’s.

“Probably cause its in Florida,” he said on what stands about Florida to him. “Probably one of the biggest standouts they [family] want to come see games but they don’t really care where I end up. Both are good spots.”

Next up fro Pinder will be signing and he admits that the Gators did give him something to think about the next few days.

“I’m signing on Wednesday,” Pinder said. “They throw something in my mind but I’m still kind of North Carolina.”
