Opening Preview: Team Landsharks

Nike has been rolling its camps around the country since early March and it will all come to end in Beaverton, Oregon on July 7th at Nike Headquarters.

The elite-of-the-elite prospects from the Class of 2015 and a handful of 2016 prospects will participate in the Sparq Challenge as well as be divided into teams to participate in the 7-on-7 challenge as well as the linemen challenge.

Among the prospects attending the events are a number of Florida targets as well as three Gator commits.

In the days leading forward, Gator Country will break down each team and give you a preview of who to watch on that team as we prepare for the Opening.

Each team will draft three quarterbacks once they are in Oregon to go along with the players already designated to their team.

After looking at Team Alpha Pro, Team Apocalypse and Team Fly Rush next up is Team Landsharks.

Team Landsharks has a lone Gator commit representing them in the secondary as cornerback Marcus Lewis will be recruiting some of Opening teammates while out in Oregon.

The Landsharks don’t have a ton of targets on the team but one of Florida’s top targets will play receiver and that’s Tyron Johnson from Louisiana who plans to visit Florida in July.

Playing inside of Johnson will be Arkansas receiver K.J. Hill who plans to take an official visit to Florida this fall but the Gators trail Arkansas and Alabama right now.

One time Florida tight end target Jackson Harris will play for the Landsharks but the Gators aren’t likely to land Harris as he committed to Georgia this summer.

The Gators will have two of their top targets participating in the linemen challenge for Landsharks and those players are offensive lineman Javon Patterson and defensive lineman Austin Bryant both have visited Florida this summer.

  1. The land sharks look loaded. There looks to be a notable former or current florida target at damn near very position, Scarlett, johnson, burt, hill, harris, pittman, lewis, toliver, burgess-becker, Patterson, and bryant. I hope Lewis is a good recruiter or sheriron jones is on the team.
