Oliver calls his Florida Gators offer a “dream come true”

Despite no visits being allowed right now, the Florida Gators coaching staff has been staying busy and have handed out a few new offers as of late.

Last week defensive back Bralyn Oliver (6-2, 195, Honea Path, SC. Belton-Honea Path) was one of those guys who picked up an offer from the Gators.

“Coach [Keiwan] Ratliff did,” Oliver said on which coach from Florida offered him last week. “Me and Coach Rat got on the phone and talked and he told me he loved how I can play anywhere in the secondary with my speed and size.”

Oliver has been one of the hottest prospects in the country as of late as he has picked up several offers in the last few weeks but he says the Florida offer was a big one to him.

“Honestly it’s a dream come true,” he said on what the offer means to him. “Getting an opportunity to join DBU is a dream come true. My reaction was just excitement and honored.”

Recruiting assistant Keiwan Ratliff explained to Oliver last week why the Gators like his game and why he fits what Florida wants on defense.

“He said he can use me anywhere in the secondary,” Oliver said on where Ratliff wants him to play at on defense. “He said we just got to figure it out when I get there. He likes how I play Mike linebacker in 7-on-7 and he said that shows my smartness for the game. He said that’s what type of player he needs.”

Oliver hasn’t visited Florida yet but he already knows several things about the Gators and he likes a lot of things about the Gators.

“I need to study Florida up and down but that’s my dream school,” he said of what he likes about Florida. “DBU, I know a good bit about Florida and I love everything about them. The environment, like Florida is one of the most beautiful places in the world to me.”

The Gators defense also stands out to Oliver as he watches Florida’s defense a lot and tries to model his game after several former players.

“I’ve been watching their defensive back highlights since I’ve been playing football, I watch them before every game and I want to be labeled one of the best defensive backs in college football,” Oliver said of what he likes about Florida’s defense. “Florida’s defense is where it’s at. Fierce competitive and always going hard, that’s what I love.”

Next up for Oliver is a trip to Gainesville but several other schools are also trying to get the defensive back on campus.

“As soon as the corna virus is up, I’m going to visit Florida,” he said on when he wants to visit Florida. “I want to visit other a few other schools too, a lot of schools are on me right now.”
