Norman sees an opportunity for early playing time

Last Thursday, the Swamp was packed for the orange and blue spring game and that included a lot of prospects who were attendance to watch the game.

Defensive lineman Will Norman (6-5, 290, Bradenton, FL. IMG) was one of those guys on campus and the Gators continue to catch his attention in his recruitment.

“It definitely continues to be an eye-opening experience,” Norman said of his visit to Florida. “Definitely just continues to be a team that I’m going to focus more and more on. As the journey goes on, I could see myself here.”

Norman paid close attention to the defensive line during the game and he could tell that there was a big need at his position in this recruiting class.

“Just watching the team, I feel like I could see myself being an early impact,” he said. “I could definitely see myself getting in and being someone early in the system. That means a lot to me, especially in the SEC.”

Defensive line coach Sean Spencer and Norman have had a relationship dating back years now and that’s something that helps Norman with the Gators.

“Me and Coach Spencer have a good relationship,” Norman said of his relationship with Spencer. “We definitely have a relationship even before he was recruiting me to Florida, we had a relationship when he was with the [New York] Giants. He helped me get ready for IMG. It’s definitely comfortable.”

Next up for Norman will be spring ball but after that, he plans to take official visits and make a college decision before the fall.

“Timeline for a decision, probably this summer,” he said. “Stay tuned for June, my official visits are coming in early June. Florida will for sure get an OV, Texas A&M too, that’s it right now.”
