Nonar likes the fight the Florida Gators put up against Alabama

Several of the Florida Gators’ top offensive line targets were in Gainesville on Saturday and were able to see the Gators run the ball at will against Alabama.

Offensive lineman Ja’Kavion Nonar (6-7, 285, Belle Glade, FL. Glades Central) was in the Swamp and he thought the Gators had a chance to win the game.

“It was good, I thought they were going to win,” Nonar said of his visit to Florida on Saturday. “When they were on the goal line for the two-point conversion, I thought they were going to score and tie the game.”

Nonar watched the Gators’ offensive line closely and he liked the fight they put up against a good Alabama defense.

“They played really well, the QB had time, but he just couldn’t get the passes off sometimes,” he said on the offensive line play. “They fought a good game; I didn’t expect it to be that close.”

Offensive line coach John Hevesy spoke with Nonar before the game on Saturday and told the lineman to watch the line closely on Saturday.

“I talked to Coach Hevesy,” Nonar said on the coach he got to speak with on Saturday. “He’s telling me to keep working and to watch how they play because I can learn from them.”

Head coach Dan Mullen is also recruiting Nonar a lot and has a simple message for the lineman.

“I talk to him and Dan Mullen all the time,” he said. “It’s a cool [his relationship with Mullen], we hug each other all the time and he wants me to be a Gator.”

Next up for Nonar will be two official visits and after that a return to Gainesville for a visit is likely.

“I really don’t know,” Nonar said on what’s next for his recruitment. “I’ve got a Maryland visit next week and then Ole Miss. I’ll be back probably for another game here.”
