Nolton like the football town vibe from the Florida Gators

Last week, the Florida Gators coaching staff continued on its recent run of handing out dozens of offers a week as they offered another instate prospect on Thursday.

2022 defensive end Francois Nolton (6-4, 225, Miami, FL. Edison) picked up an offer after he talked with area recruiter Brian Johnson.

“Coach Brian Johnson,” Nolton said on which coach from Florida offered him. “He told my head coach and then they got me on the phone and he told me. They said they like my explosion and they like my film. He said I would be a good addition to them and they wanted to offer me.”

Nolton likes several things about the Gators program already and that made Thursday’s offer a big one to him.

“It means a lot to me,” he said on what the offer means to him. “I like Florida, I like the coaches, I like Coach Dan Mullen, Coach [David] Turner, the tradition and I’ve been to Florida before. I just like the atmosphere.”

Quarterbacks coach and area recruiter Brian Johnson explained to Nolton what they like about his game and what they want to do next.

“He just told me that they like my technique and explosion,” Nolton said on what Florida likes about his game. “Whatever position they want me to play, I will play. After all this over he wants me to come up there and sit down with Coach Turner and build that relationship.”

Nolton knows several things about the Gators defense already and he likes the attitude they play with.

“The defense is nice, I like watching them in the game,” he said on what he thinks about Florida’s defense. “They play fast, and it looks like to me that their defensive line makes a lot of plays. They play with a lot of swagger and play fast and physical.”

The defensive end has visited Florida several times in the past and he likes several things about the Gators and the city of Gainesville.

“It’s a football town,” Nolton said on what he likes about Florida. “My head coach was telling me that there’s a difference between going to a city school and going to an SEC school where the whole town is rooting for you. When I was up there, I looked at everything around there and everything is Florida.”

The Gators have some tough competition for Nolton as several other big name programs are after him.

“Right now, its Florida State, Penn State, South Carolina, TCU, Miami and UCF,” he said on schools recruiting him hard. “I want to back to Florida, I want to go to Clemson, I want to go to Georgia, South Carolina and LSU when I can take visits again.”
