What are the keys to victory for Florida’s offense vs. Ole Miss?
AS: Run the Baugh and be physical up front. This Ole Miss team struggles against the run and misses a lot of tackles. Let Baugh get loose and then hit some of the underneath stuff to the playmakers and let them make Ole Miss miss.
GH: The keys to victory for Florida’s offense this weekend start with Jadan Baugh. The Rebels struggle against the run and the Gators must take advantage of that this weekend. I also want to see Aaron Philo pick up where he left off last weekend and not get phased by the pressure up front, as that will be another big key.
NM: Same key as every other week: feed Jadan Baugh and get the ball to your playmakers in space. Ole Miss has 46 missed tackles on the season, which is the second-most in the Power Four. Baugh alone has 30 broken tackles through three games, the most in the FBS.
What are the keys to victory for Florida’s defense vs. Ole Miss?
AS: Pressure Trinidad and keep him in the pocket and that isn’t easy. Kewan Lacy will be limited at best but Trinidad has to be the focus.
GH: Florida’s defensive front must continue to bring pressure and keep Trinidad Chambliss in the backfield this weekend, as the Heisman front-runner has the ability to torch Florida’s secondary if the Gators can’t find ways to keep him at bay. I want to see the same group that recorded 7 sacks against the Tigers show up in Gainesville on Saturday.
NM: Stopping Trinidad Chambliss is a difficult task. Florida’s coverage and pass rush both have to be on point. Kewan Lacy will be limited at best on Saturday, which means Florida needs to focus on stopping the Rebels’ prolific passing offense. They have to shrink the pocket with the pass rush while keeping eyes on Chambliss and play sticky coverage in the back end.
Who’s one player you want to receive more playing time in Week 4?
AS: This is a tough one because I feel like the best are playing right now but I guess I’ll go with J’Vari Flowers because the defensive back group needs help.
GH: I want to see Emmanuel Oyebadejo continue to get more work off the edge for the Gators. Oyebadejo was a force to be reckoned with against the Tigers last weekend, finishing with 3 total tackles, 2.5 sacks and 2.5 TFL.
NM: Dijon Johnson is holding opposing quarterbacks to an NFL passer rating of 34.7. He’s allowed four receptions for 76 yards on nine targets while forcing two pass breakups and an interception. He’s been Florida’s best cover corner despite having the third-most snaps among the corners.
What is the biggest matchup that will determine this game?
AS: Florida’s offensive line versus Ole Miss’ defensive line. If Florida wins this match-up, I like the Gators.
GH: The biggest matchup that will determine the game on Saturday will be Florida’s defensive front against Mississippi’s offensive line. If that group can bring consistent pressure up front and limit the explosive plays from Trinidad Chambliss, this team will have a good chance Saturday afternoon.
NM: There are so many fun matchups to pick. But I think the biggest improvement Florida needs to make to win is in coverage. They have to stick to guys like Duece Alexander and limit his explosiveness. So I’ll say Florida’s secondary vs. Ole Miss’ playmakers.
Where does Florida have the clearest advantage over Ole Miss? Where does Ole Miss pose the biggest problem for Florida?
AS: Florida’s running game is the advantage because of how bad Ole Miss’ run defense has been. Ole Miss’ playmakers versus Florida’s secondary scares me.
GH: I think the biggest advantage the Gators have over the Rebels is their rushing attack and explosive offense. Ole Miss has shown to struggle trying to stop the run and have given up an SEC-worst 159+ rushing yards per game this season. As far as Florida’s biggest problem goes, I think Trinidad Chambliss’ ability to extend plays and get the ball to his playmakers will be the biggest problem for the Gators. Chambliss is the best in the game right now when it comes to finding ways to extend plays.
NM: The clearest advantage Florida has is its playmakers. Ole Miss has not tackled well in space, which could be a huge problem for the Rebels on Saturday as Florida is loaded with playmakers who can make people miss. The biggest challenge for Florida is Trinidad Chambliss, as he will be for every team he faces.
Give me your score prediction and why.
AS: Florida 33-27. The Swamp is the difference.
GH: Florida 32, Ole Miss 28. I think Florida’s defense will do just enough to win this game behind an offense that will find ways to score points against the Rebels.
NM: Ole Miss 38, Florida 34. I have this game as a shootout, and in shootouts, I trust Trinidad Chambliss to make the heroic play. He’s proven that the moment isn’t too big for him. I think it comes down to a final drive either way.
