Florida added its third tight end through the transfer portal when New Haven’s Evan Chieca committed to the Gators on Monday afternoon. Chieca visited LSU, Alabama, and Kentucky after entering the portal on December 4th.
The 6’5, 250-pound tight end earned 2025 All NEC Conference Honors after recording 31 receptions for 255 yards and four touchdowns last season.
As a redshirt freshman in 2024, Chieca hauled in 12 receptions for 79 yards and a touchdown, earning 2024 All-Rookie Team honors. Chieca redshirted during the 2023 season.
The Lindenhurst, New York native will have two years of eligibility remaining.
Chieca joins a tight end room that consists of Amir Jackson, Luke Harpring, Lacota Dippre, Heze Kent, Micah Jones, and Tripp Brown.
