Napier left a big impression on Bryce Lovett during his UF visit

The Florida Gators coaching staff spent most of the January recruiting period trying to finish out the 2022 class, but they also hosted several top 2023 prospects on campus.

2023 offensive lineman Bryce Lovett (6-4, 320, Rockledge, FL. High) was one of those guys who took an unofficial visit to Gainesville to meet the new coaching staff.

“The visit was great, I learned a lot of stuff and had an amazing time,” Lovett said of his visit to Florida in January. “We toured the weight room and the facility which is under construction and then we went back and had a meeting with the offensive line coaches. I had a meeting with Coach [Billy] Napier and a meeting about the NIL stuff before I left.”

While on the visit, Lovett picked up an offer from the Gators after he met with head coach Billy Napier.

“Coach Napier offered me,” he said on the coach who offered him during the visit. “He said because of my film, attitude and personality that he wanted to offer me. He sees me as the type of guy that he wants to play for him and will fit in his program.”

This was the first time for Lovett to meet Napier but he walked away from the visit impressed by Napier.

“Coach Napier is a great coach and the things he’s doing at Florida is great,” Lovett said on his impressions of Napier. “He’s turning things around and the staff he has brought on is making it easy for him because they’re great too.”

Offensive line coaches Rob Sale and Darnell Stapleton spent a lot of time with Lovett during the visit and explained their vision for the position at Florida.

“I spent pretty much all day with them, they’re great men and great coaches,” he said on Florida’s offensive line coaches. “They said that they take the offensive line very serious and that they’re turning around Florida football.”

Now that Lovett has the offer from Florida, he says he has a lot of interest in Florida and plans to return for a spring practice.

“This offer means a lot,” Lovett said on what the offer means to him. “I’ve been getting recruited by Florida for over a year and I know it’s an all-new coaching staff but it still feels great to finally have the offer and I’m pretty interested in them.”
