Muschamp’s speaking tour announced

Will Muschamp took the stage in Gainesville prior to the 2013 season to speak to the Gainesville Gator Club.

“Last year I walked into most of these things with a bulletproof vest on,” Muschamp joked with the crowd following Florida’s 11-2 season.

The crowd was excited about the season to come and hopeful that the Gators would make a return trip to Atlanta to represent the SEC East in the SEC Championship game. That obviously didn’t happen last season and the crowds this year will likely be less receptive and joyous than they were a year ago.

This time around, Muschamp will be selling his plan and that the Gators are not too far off. He’ll kick off his speaking tour in front of the Gainesville Quarterback Club on April 8, just four days before Florida’s spring game. In total, Muschamp will make eight appearances, head basketball coach Billy Donovan will make two and assistant coaches will make four additional appearances to speak to Gator fans around the state.

Nick de la Torre
A South Florida native, Nick developed a passion for all things sports at a very young age. His love for baseball was solidified when he saw Al Leiter’s no-hitter for the Marlins live in May of 1996. He was able to play baseball in college but quickly realized there isn’t much of a market for short, slow outfielders that hit around the Mendoza line. Wanting to continue with sports in some capacity he studied journalism at the University of Central Florida. Nick got his first start in the business as an intern for a website covering all things related to the NFL draft before spending two seasons covering the Florida football team at Bleacher Report. That job led him to GatorCountry. When he isn’t covering Gator sports, Nick enjoys hitting way too many shots on the golf course, attempting to keep up with his favorite t.v. shows and watching the Heat, Dolphins and Marlins.
