Morris impressed by the Florida Gators’ offense after picking up an offer

Over the last week, the Florida Gators coaching staff has been busy offering out of state prospects in the Class of 2022.

2022 receiver Tyler Morris (6-0,175, La Grange Park, IL. Nazareth Academy) picked up an offer from the Gators last week.

“Coach [Billy Gonzales offered me,” Morris said of the coach who offered him. “We talked for a while about my family and how the school has been going then we started talking about the program and he told me he’s been keeping up with me and that’s when he offered me.”

Morris was shocked to receive the offer from receivers coach Billy Gonzales last week as the two haven’t talked much.

“It’s definitely a huge offer for me,” he said on what the offer means to him. “I was pretty surprised because I hadn’t really been talking to them much before they gave me the offer.”

Gonzales explained to Morris why the Gators wanted to offer him and where he would play in the Gators’ offense.

“He said that I would be used as a slot receiver,” Morris said on where Gonzales sees him playing and what they like about him. “He said that he has been watching me for a while and he’s picky with who he offers and that I had the small details that he was looking for.”

Morris has watched a few Florida games this year and he has been impressed by the Gators’ offense.

“I’ve seen their offense and I think they’re one of the best in the country and I like how much they pass the ball,” he said on what he likes about Florida. “I know they have a history of winning and it’s one of the best programs in the country and I like how much they pass.”

The Gators aren’t the only team recruiting Morris hard as several other big programs want the 2022 receiver.

“I’m really interested in Florida,” Morris said on his interest in Florida and who else is recruiting him hard. “Other schools recruiting me hard are Notre Dame, Michigan, Missouri, Wisconsin and Northwestern.”
