Montgomery breaks down why he committed to the Florida Gators

The Florida Gators received good news on Sunday when they received instate commitment from one of their top targets.

Athlete Charles Montgomery (5-10, 185, Seffner, FL. Armwood) committed to Florida over Maryland on Sunday afternoon and he explained why he decided that.

“Just over the time, thinking about it and talking to them on a every day basis,” Montgomery said on why he committed to Florida. “Just the communication level was a key part in it. My grandmother and mother loved it there too.”

Montgomery made his decision public on Sunday but he has actually been committed to Florida for several months now.

“February 1st, I went up there for junior day,” he said on when he knew he wanted to be a Gator. “Actually I silently committed on February 1st and for this whole time, I’ve been committed to them. Coach Mullen was on board with it since I told him.”

Receivers coach Billy Gonzales and Dan Mullen have explained to Montgomery just where he will play at on offense once he arrives in Gainesville.

“They see me playing a little bit of receiver and running back,” Montgomery said on where Florida wants him to play. “The majority of the time, I’m going to be in the slot, they’re going to move me around. They want me on kick return too, I’ve told them just wherever they need me, I’ll play.”

Now that Montgomery has committed, the athlete plans to start recruiting other guys to join him in Gainesville and he has a teammate he’s after.

“For sure, I’m talking to Dez [Desmond Watson],” he said on guys he’s recruiting now. “The coaches are amazing their and its Florida so who doesn’t want to go there, that’s what I tell them. Florida is on the come up.”

Montgomery says Sunday’s decision to commit to Florida is a decision he plans to stick with.

“No more visits besides,” Montgomery said. “I’m solid.”
