Mizell says the Florida Gators lead following his official visit to UF

This past weekend the Florida Gators hosted one of the top receivers in the country who’s a Florida legacy as both of his parents were track stars in Gainesville.

Receiver Aidan Mizell (6-2, 180, Orlando, FL. Boone) was on campus and enjoyed being able to stay for two days.

“It was good,” Mizell said of his visit to Florida. “Usually on trips I’ve made this far, it’s usually stay a few hours and then leave. It was good taking in everything, seeing everything. Being around campus, the players and recruits just a little bit longer.”

Most of the time Mizell has only had a few hours on campus but he enjoyed getting to talk with the coaches on a more personal level.

“It was good just to be able to take our time and just chill and talk,” he said on spending more time around the program. “We didn’t always talk football, we talked about other stuff too.”

While on campus, Mizell spent a lot of time with receivers coach Keary Colbert and head coach Billy Napier.

“Coach Colbert, Coach Decker, Coach Blackshear and even Coach Napier,” Mizell said on the coaches he spent the most time with. “It was definitely good not so much with Coach KC but Coach Napier and the other staff because me and Coach KC talk all the time, so it was getting to know the rest of the staff.”

The weekend was a jammed packed weekend for Mizell but several things stood out to the receiver during the official visit.

“Everything we did was fun,” he said on highlights of the trip. “Going out with the players was fun, riding scooters around on campus was fun. They said it was the first time doing that, the pictures were different, just hanging out was really cool.”

After the visit, Mizell says the Gators are now leading in his recruitment heading into more official visits for the receiver.

“It definitely has, they were competing for the top three spots but I confidently say Florida is my top school,” Mizell said on where Florida stands with him now. “Just the relationship I have with the staff and the direction I see the program going in.”

After official visits are over, Mizell says he would like to make a decision before the start of his senior year.

“I was thinking July or maybe into August,” he said on when he may decide. “They [Florida] talked about me coming back for some cookout in July so I may do that.”
